Day 2

We travel to the historic town of Chiltern for some morning tea and a tour of its well-preserved historic buildings. Next, we journey to Corowa where we stop by the banks of the Murray River for lunch.  After lunch, we head towards the world-famous Rutherglen Wine Region and stop at one of the many well-established wineries for an afternoon tasting.  There you will have the opportunity to purchase your favourite vintage. We then head back to an Albury club for dinner, stopping for afternoon tea along the way.

Day 3

We journey to Melbourne. After morning tea and lunch during the drive, we arrive at Queen Victoria Market – one of the largest undercover markets in the world, with over 1000 stalls covering 7 hectares.  There we take our time exploring the markets before heading to our Melbourne motel for dinner.  We then make our way to Eureka Tower, Melbourne’s tallest skyscraper, to take in the spectacular panoramic views of this magical city from the Sky Deck on the 88th floor.  After a busy day exploring, we head back to our motel for a good night’s sleep.

Day 4

We continue to explore the great city of Melbourne, driving through the Docklands Area towards Federation Square. Here we board our river cruise, which will give us a unique perspective of this magnificent city and its port and docklands.  We then have free time to explore the shopping in Melbourne Central, take the City Circle Tram Tour, or discover the exhibition at the State Library.  We then make our way to St Kilda Beach, viewing all the famous city landmarks along the way.  After a refreshment stop at our Melbourne motel, we cap off a busy day by having a night out at the Melbourne Casino.

Day 5

We travel to Belgrave for morning tea before boarding the historic Puffing Billy Steam Train at Belgrave Station. Puffing Billy is the oldest steam train in Australia and travels through the Dandenong Ranges 35 kilometres east of Melbourne.  Enjoy the scenic train ride through rolling hills, steeply weathered valleys and gullies covered in thick temperate rainforest.  We then tour up to a lookout at Olinda and cast our eye down over Melbourne.  After lunch at the Pig and Whistle restaurant and bar, we make our way up one of the most scenic drives in Victoria – the Black Spur Drive.  During this drive, we view the magnificently tall Mountain Ash Eucalypts and many species of tree ferns before heading back to Albury.  We finish for the day at Tallangatta Motor Inn with a light meal served in your room after a long day of travel.

We journey to the Hume Weir to admire the powerful weir wall and take in the views of Lake Hume – which holds six times the volume of water contained in Sydney Harbour. After morning tea at the gorgeous Hume Weir Park, we continue into Albury to explore the main shopping area before heading to Australia Park for a relaxing lunch. From Albury, we take a step back in time at the Jindera Pioneer Museum before enjoying afternoon tea at the adjoining Old Residence of the museum. We finish for the day at Tallangatta Motor Inn for dinner.
