Day 1

Pick up at Albury Railway Station and transport to Tallangatta Motor Inn to enjoy a home-cooked dinner.

Day 2

We journey to the town of Chiltern for some morning tea and a tour of the well-preserved historical buildings. We then travel towards Corowa where we stop by the banks of the Murray River for a hearty lunch.  After lunch, we head towards the world-famous Rutherglen Wine Region and stop at one of the many well-established wineries for an afternoon tasting.  There you have the opportunity to purchase your favourite vintage before we make our way back to the Motor Inn for dinner.

Day 3

We travel in to the New South Wales high country, crossing the Murray River at Tintaldra on our journey towards Tumbarumba. Here we sit back and enjoy the Boggy Creek Show – a horsemanship show styled on the legend of The Man from Snowy River and an outstanding representation of Australia’s unique Snowy Mountains heritage.  After the show, we enjoy our lunch before exploring the displays at the Pioneer Women’s Hut. The afternoon is spent meandering through the apple-growing region of Batlow before arriving at our destination for the night in Tumut. We enjoy a short tour of the town before dinner.

Day 4

We tour to the Yarrongabilly Caves along a magnificent stretch of the Snowy Mountains Highway, passing Blowering Dam and Talbingo. When we arrive at the caves in Kosciuszko National Park, we are treated to a tour of Jillabenan Cave, which forms part of one of the most beautiful limestone karst systems in Australia. From here, we voyage upwards to Australia’s highest town, Cabramurra, where we have lunch at an altitude of 1480m above sea level. After a short wander around this unique township, we continue along the Snowy Mountains Highway towards our rest stop for the night in Cooma.

Day 5

We visit the town of Jindabyne, located on the road to Kosciuszko National Park, where we discover the town shops before using them as a base for exploring more of the Snowy Mountains region. We traverse up to Thredbo, New South Wales’ premier ski resort town, where we catch the chairlift up to the spectacular views from “Eagle’s Nest” lookout. After lunch, we make our way to the picturesque Alpine Way over Dead Horse Gap. After passing Tom Groggan Station, we make our way to Geehi and Scammell’s lookout. We then make our way home to Tallangatta for dinner via Khancoban and Corryong.

Day 6

We traverse along the northern arm of the Hume Weir. Here we are able to admire the powerful weir wall and take in the views of Lake Hume – which holds six times the volume of water contained in Sydney Harbour.   After morning tea at the gorgeous Hume Weir Park, we continue into Albury to explore the main shopping area before heading to Australia Park for a relaxing lunch. From Albury, we step back in time and explore the Jindera Pioneer Museum. We then enjoy afternoon tea at the adjoining Old Residence of the museum before returning to the Tallangatta Motor Inn where a light meal will be served in your room for dinner.

Day 7

After breakfast at the Tallangatta Motor Inn we say our farewells. The bus then takes you for a visit to the famous Peard’s Nursery Café before dropping you at the train station for your journey home!
