Pick up at Albury Railway Station and transport to Tallangatta Motor Inn to enjoy a home-cooked dinner.
We journey towards the riverside town of Howlong for morning tea. After travelling through Corowa, we then reach the town of Yarrawonga, nestled on the south bank of the Murray River. There, on the bank of Lake Mulwala, we board the Paradise Queen (a family-owned and operated cruise boat) for a relaxing cruise and lunch made from local produce. In the afternoon we make our way to the small town of Rutherglen, which is located near the Murray River border with New South Wales before returning to the Tallangatta Motor Inn for dinner.
We tour to Mount Beauty, a small town resting against the Kiewa River. After morning tea, we travel to Bogong Village, comprising of twenty-six historic houses originally built for the workers on the Kiewa hydroelectric scheme. Bogong Village sits on the side of a spectacular valley overlooking Junction Dam and Lake Guy, with the Victorian Alps sitting statuesque in the distance. Here we enjoy a hearty lunch in Bogong Village, before strolling through the beautiful seasonal European gardens nestled in the Alpine National Park. We then make our way up Mount Bogong towards Victoria’s most popular ski resort, Falls Creek. We finish for the day at Tallangatta Motor Inn for dinner.
We travel to Amulet winery (where the views across the valley are spectacular) for a private wine tasting and morning tea. With a large selection of grape varieties and wines cultivated on site, you will be able to purchase your favourite vintage. After morning tea, we travel to Glenrowan, the historic site of infamous bushranger Ned Kelly’s final siege. We will enjoy lunch in Glenrowan before participating in an interactive, theatrical production of Ned Kelly’s Last Stand at the Glenrowan Tourist Centre. We cap off a busy day by heading straight to an Albury Club for dinner.
We journey south-east towards Myrtleford where we experience the distinctive fields and kilns, as well as remnants of the tobacco industry which began in the 1900s. After some morning tea in the park, we travel up to Mount Buffalo to take in the spectacular panoramic views on offer. There we observe the imposing granite outcrops, tumbling waterfalls, snow gums and stunning wildflowers on offer. We also experience the historic Mount Buffalo Chalet, a guest house built in 1910. On our way home, we visit the Red Stag – Deer and Emu Park, set among the pristine Ovens Valley, where we enjoy a scrumptious afternoon tea before heading back to Tallangatta for a well-earned rest and comforting meal.
Today we make our way to Beechworth. We have morning tea before enjoying a performance from local artist Lazy Harry. We then head to the Beechworth Bakery for lunch and a wander around the town before heading home to Tallangatta for afternoon tea and an optional wander around the town. We then enjoy dinner back at the Motor Inn at the usual time.
After breakfast at the Tallangatta Motor Inn we say our farewells. The bus then takes you for a visit to the famous Peard’s Nursery Café before dropping you at the train station for your journey home!
