Phillip Island

Day 1

Pick up at Albury Railway Station and transport to Tallangatta Motor Inn to enjoy a home-cooked dinner.

Day 2

We journey along the Mitta arm of Lake Hume before arriving at Bethanga Lookout. Here we enjoy morning tea with one of the most spectacular views of the Hume Weir.  We then travel through the lakeside village of Bellbridge before crossing the Bethanga Bridge on our way to the Bandiana Army Museum. After exploring the largest and most diversified military museum in Australia, we enjoy a relaxing lunch within the manicured grounds of the museum before heading back to Tallangatta.  After a refreshment stop at the Tallangatta Motor Inn, we cap off a busy day by heading into Albury to a club for dinner.

Day 3

We travel to a picturesque area of South Gippsland known as Phillip Island, famous for the Phillip Island Grand Prix Racing Circuit and home of the colony of Little Penguins. We stop for lunch on the way before travelling to Maru Koala and Animal Park for afternoon tea and a glimpse at some cuddly Australian animals.  We then check in to our motel located in a beautiful part of Cowes before enjoying dinner at the Penguin Parade – a wonderful venue where we watch little penguins returning home at sunset to one of Australia’s largest penguin colonies.

Day 4

We briefly visit the magnificent headland, known as the Nobbies, where we view Seal Rocks – home to Australia’s largest Australian Fur Seal colony. We then travel to the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit for morning tea and a tour of the Museum.  Next, we discover the tranquillity of the historic working farm of Churchill Island, a tiny 57-hectare island off the coast of Phillip Island.  It is here where we enjoy our lunch.  We will then head back towards Cowes to board our seal watching cruise of Phillip Island and Seal Rocks. We enjoy our afternoon tea on the boat before heading back to our motel in Cowes for dinner.

Day 5

We farewell Phillip Island by journeying to the Esplanade at Grossard Point for some panoramic views. We visit the small fishing town of Rhyll for morning tea before travelling across the island to Surf Beach and Newhaven.  At this point we travel back across the bridge to the mainland.  We enjoy lunch on our way home to Tallangatta, finishing with a light meal served in your room after a long day of travel.

Day 6

We travel up and over Granya Gap to the historic gold-rush town of Granya. We enjoy some traditional country hospitality with a fine spread put on by the good folks at the Granya Museum.  We then make our way up to the picturesque town of Mitta Mitta, the jewel in the crown of the Mitta Valley.  We enjoy a picnic lunch on the banks of the Snowy Creek before heading back down the Mitta Valley towards Tallandoon.  We finish for the day at Tallangatta Motor Inn for dinner.

After breakfast at the Tallangatta Motor Inn we say our farewells. The bus then takes you for a visit to the famous Peard’s Nursery Café before dropping you at the train station for your journey home!
